The Forward End of the Forward House, Boiler Deck: This Officers Quarters section contains cabins for professional (licensed) crewmembers, and the office. The office is flanked by the captain and chief engineer's cabins. Five rooms on the port side of this section have been remodeled to serve as the Museum of Missouri River History, created in 1981. These rooms are the Clerk & Surveyor's room, a room shared by the hoist operator and engineer, a room shared by two operators, a room shared by the watchman and carpenter, and an extra room. On the starboard side, five rooms are also equipped with interpretive panels. These rooms are a chief engineer's radio room, a room for two engineers, a room for the machinist and striker, a room for two strikers, and a room for a striker and a launchman. |
